This year is coming to an end

With only a few days left in 2014 I figured I would do an update of sorts....

So I know the big question everyone is wondering is; How am I doing emotionally? Ok so where do I begin.?. Well first off no I still have not had my "breakdown", yes it terrifies me. It makes me wonder, am I not having it cuz I'm a bad daughter, or that I'm still fighting it. In my heart of hearts I know it has nothing to do with the first. It's just my brain messes with me at times. I haven't started the process to find another counselor, after my first experience I don't want to deal with it. Yes I know it takes time to find the right fit, I just don't want to have to keep going over and over the details with every new person. Can I just tell them to read my blog? 

I still have my bad days but I guess that's to be expected. It seems like for every good day I have I have 3 bad days. Not many people would realize it, I've learned how to hide it. Yes I know I shouldn't be doing that. I don't want to burden others with my pain, I know I know I have people that beg me to get my feelings out but it's just not that easy. Truth be told I don't want to be told I have to be put on meds to help me cope. I am very set on I don't want meds to help me through this. 

I've lived everyday since March 4 trying to make my mama and my family proud. But internally I feel like a complete failure for not being able to deal with my feelings. 

Being away from my family is so hard. It breaks my heart to see my niece grow up in pictures. I didn't even know she could talk as good as she is until a video got posted on Facebook. That breaks my heart and also pisses me off. I don't get to video chat with her as much as should be happening. She can finally say Aunt Aly which makes me so excited that despite not seeing her she still knows who I am. My nephew is going to be born in the next few months and I more than likely won't be able to fly home for that. Which upsets me that I won't be there to see him or hold him. The instant connection I had/have with Maryrose I won't get to have with Will.

I have never lived this far from my daddy, I'm a huge daddy's girl so it's an adjustment. It breaks my heart that he's all alone and doesn't get to spend time with my brothers family like he wants to. 

So onto what's new in my life:

I am no longer a Scentsy rep and am now a MaryKay rep. I have recently started my own company called Aly's Creations. Right now I am making decals and drink wear. Am contemplating bringing personalized ring dishes into the mix. Hoping to take my certs by March for medical billing and coding as well as medical administrative assistant. Let hope I don't bomb them and have to take them again. 

We are still trying for a Chance Baby, hasn't happened yet so all the baby dust would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying not to think about it or be worried but that's easier said than done. 

My journey to a new normal has just begun. What does 2015 hold for me?, we will soon find out.

My review

Ok so lets face it once you hit about 25yrs old you get your first "cottage cheese". So you can image to my surprise to try a product that actually works. i got the Cellulite Cream + Stretch Mark Cream. now i havent had to use the stretch mark cream yet but im actually excited. Anyways the Cellulite cream is actually working. So for me this app has pros and cons. Some of the pros are that you actually get the exact product it will redirect you to Sephora. Also there are a wide veriety of "Looks"

So as you can tell in some of the examples the foundation match and others it was like holy cow what was this app thinking. Would i use this app again? To be honest probably not. this app just didnt do it for me. The app is free so go ahead and give it a try your experiance might be different than mine.

Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust

 

This picture pretty much sums up this post. I am so beyond greatful that I got to spend a week with on of my bestest friends!!!!! (There was supposed to be a group of us but we determained to still go no matter what) And i am so glad we did!!!! This girl and I have been through so much in the little time we have known eachother from stalkers, crazy exes, weddings to death. And no matter what we have been there. I still rememeber that fateful day at the hospital and I called the last person on my phone and she was on the other line letting me cry and scream. Through it all i have had a hand full of friends that i have fully let in and i am so greatful that Nikki is one of them.

 

We can truely be ourselves around eachother and not give two fucks what the other thinks cuz we both know we will laugh at the same things!!! We will always share the memories of our adventurous week from getting drunk at Epcot (BEEEEDOOOO BEEEDOOOOOO BEEEDOOOOO) to racing against time to make our shuttle only to miss it. 

This girl understands my crazy obsesion with all things Disney, cuz shes a crazy Disney Addict too. Who else busts out singing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious with me while walking to find the cab driver that has no idea where he is, but her. Who else shares my excitment to meet Ariel and Tink but her. Hell she even wore a tutu with me on halloween.

 

 

NIKKI I love you to the moon and back!!!!!!! I cant wait to have more adventures with you.

I personally only liked the eye shadows. Orange is just not a good color for me. The polish was up my ally, i love polish so i was excited for that, and to my surprise it actually stayed on for a few days befor it started to chip away.

One Direction MakeUp



Scary afternoon

Today started out to be a good day. A friend and I spent the afternoon together "having an adventure". Once we got home the adventure really began!! 

My poor baby Roo was wet like he had been playing in his water bowl. This time was completely different. He had his tail between his legs and was shaking. All the sudden he started to hack up flemmy blood. I freaked out and started to cry I didn't know what to do. Thank god my friend was here!!!! After calling a few vets we loaded up in the car and took Roo to a vet. 

They tester him for parvo. Even tho I knew there was no chance he could have it, it was still scary. It was just that thought that my baby could have that. Thank god he tested negative for that.  Finally the vet saw us. My baby weighs 6.4lbs. No fever. Nothing is lodged in his throat or in his belly. The outcome is he either has a flu or eat something that irritated his throat/tummy. So they gave him 3 shots; an anti inflammatory, antibiotic and something to make him stop hacking. As well as meds to bring home to help settle his belly. So he's on a bland diet for the next few days. 

He's now going through the drowsy side effects of the shots. He's being a big cuddle bug. I feel so bad that there's nothing I can do to make him feel better. 

Catch up

So it's been about 2 weeks since I last posted. I know I know I need to stop letting life get in the way. I got through these times were I say "I can post tomorrow" but tomorrow never comes. So since I'm on a new sleeping schedule due to work there's no time like the present. So since this post will be a catch up post I figured I would use bullets since we all know I can get off topic easily. Lol

• Work, what can I say about this.... I love my new job. I am a Guest Servies Rep at the Inn here on base and couldn't be happier!!!! Only down said is the hours, 3-midnight. So I usually can't fall asleep until 2am at the earliest. But for the most part it's the same hours that A works. 

• The Air Force Ball. OMG that was such an amazing experience to get to go. It was so nice and fun. Being able to dress up and go out with my husband is not an everyday thing. 

• ALS (Airman Leadership School) A started ALS this past week and while he's in that we are pretty much going to see each other in passing for the most part. I am so proud of him for making Staff. Our pooches aren't understanding the fact that daddy has homework and can't play with them. 

• Countdowns

I am beyond excited for both of these!!!! I'm getting crafty and making Minnie Mouse costumes since we will be there for Halloween. 

I CANNOT wait to see my daddy!!!! I am so glad that he's getting to come spend time with is for thanksgiving!!!! It's definitely going to be bitter sweet though. Just another gut check that mama won't be here. 

• MY BESTIE IS ENGAGED!!!!!!! 

• We have officially started the process to have a baby. I am in a different age group so I naturally don't produce the levels of folic acid that the baby would need as well as being anemic. So we have stopped taking birth control and now taking prenatals to help get those levels up. This next month is busy with ALS and Disney so I don't see us actually getting pregnant until Nov at the soonest. Although it would be awesome to find out at Disney. But I highly doubt it. I was on BC for a long time so our busy month is pretty much giving my body the time to get that out of my system as well as getting my folic acid and iron levels up. 

Ok I think I talked your ear off so I'll end this post for now.  I'm gonna start a new thing where I end every post with and inspirational quote.

Review

Upon receiving the sample to try I must admit I was a little reluctant. my thought was "I'm 28 i don't need anything for anti-aging". Well to my astonishment I was so wrong. My skin feels smooth, and tight (not the type of tight you get when you put a mask on and are waiting for it to harden and can't blink). It feels like this is how my skin is supposed to be. With age comes "wear and tear" this product gives me that youthful feel!!!! I deff will be using this product often.

It's not all rainbows and unicorns

One of my biggest pet peeves is how people have this unrealistic notion that being married to someone in the military is rainbows, glitter, and unicorns. I got news for y'all, IT'S NOT!!!! 

On top of regular marriage woes you have the stress of pending deployments among a million other things. And now the fear of the "retention board". For those that are ignorant and believe everything the news says here's a bit of info, just because the news says they are pulling troops back doesn't mean they still aren't sending troop. They just aren't going in as big of numbers as they were and the rotations are sooner. And due to the fact that we as a nation are in debt NO JOB IS SAFE, this includes the military. 

Most military family's are so far in debt and are on some kind of assistance. People think military gets paid good. Contrary to popular believe military doesn't!! I made more working at TSA than my husband makes now. Yes there are "incentives" or programs and benefits that the Military member and their families get, but let's face it they put their life down for your freedom, they deserve it!! Those types of things that we may get alleviate stress on the military member. Think about it, let's say they are deployed, they don't need to be worrying about if their family is going to get evicted or if they have food on their table, they have bigger things to worry about.

Military actually has one of the highest divorce rates. So for those that say this is a glamourous life, you are full of shit!!!!!

What makes our lives "glamourous" is not the military!!! It is the love we have for eachother. That we will overcome any obstacle thrown at us. That we have created a loving home (even if we have to up and move in a few years). That our kids wether it be humans or furbabies are happy and cared for. That we have a support system that is there for us no matter what. 

Been too long

I haven't really posted much in the last weekish. I've been trying to stay busy. 

I finally have a job, I am the newest Guest Relations at the Fairchild Inn. Woot woot I'm a working girl again (well as of the 18th).  I'm so excited to be working again. 

I have also recently started the process of becoming a Key Spouce. I am beyond excited about this. I want to make mama proud and I know this will. I can't wait to finish training and start helping people. What is Key Spouse? Well it's support for the families. IT IS NOT A SOCIAL CLUB, YOU ARE NOT "PARTY" THROWERS. This has got to be a pet peeve of mine that there's a lot of people out there that feel it's a social status, that they are the elite. Got news for you, you are there to SUPPORT the families!!!

I have recently started my own Craft Buisness. As of right now it's just Car Decals but I will be gradually introducing more products. I am so excited about this venture. Aly's Creations, the online shop is on storenvy. 

Here's a sample of what's live in the shop. Crafting is my escape. It's something that calms me and relaxes me. It took me a bit but I finally found my outlet. Mama loved to craft so in a way it's connecting me to her.

Favorite book when I was younger

The Big Friendly Giant (BFG) has got to be one of my favorite books still to this day.

"I is a nice and jumbly giant! I is the only nice and jumbly Giant in Giant Country! I is THE BIG FRIENDLY GIANT! I is the BFG. What is your name?"

The 2 main character in this book are

•Sophie: The protagonist of the story, who becomes an international heroine by causing the man-eating giants to be captured.

•The BFG: A 24-foot-tall individual possessed of superhuman hearing and immense speed, whose primary occupation is the collection and distribution of good dreams to children.

Plot

The story is about a little girl named Sophie. One night, when Sophie cannot fall asleep during the "witching hour", she sees a giant blowing something into the bedroom windows down the street. The giant notices her, reaches through the window, and carries her to his home in Giant Country.

Once there, he reveals that he is the world's only benevolent giant, the Big Friendly Giant or BFG, who operating in the strictest secrecy, collects good dreams that he later distributes to children. By means of immense ears he can hear dreams and their contents (which manifest themselves in a misty Dream Country as floating, blob-like objects) and blow them via a trumpet-like blowpipe into the bedrooms of children. When he catches a nightmare, he detonates it, or uses it to start fights among the other giants, who periodically enter the human world to steal and eat "human beans", especially children. The BFG, because he refuses to do likewise, subsists on a foul-tasting vegetable known as a snozzcumber (an exaggerated cartoon English cucumber), and on a drink called frobscottle, which is unusual in that the bubbles in the drink travel downwards and therefore cause the drinker to break wind instead of burp; this causes noisy flatulence known as Whizzpopping.

Sophie and the BFG become friends early on; later, she persuades him to approach the Queen of England with the aim of capturing the other giants to prevent them from eating any more people. To this end, the BFG creates a nightmare, introducing knowledge of the man-eating giants to the Queen and leaves Sophie in the Queen's bedroom to confirm it true. Because the dream included the knowledge of Sophie's presence, the Queen believes her and speaks with the BFG. After considerable effort by the palace staff to create a table, chair, and cutlery of appropriate size for him to use, the BFG is given a lavish breakfast, and the Queen forms a plan to capture the other giants. She calls the King of Sweden and the Sultan of Baghdad to confirm the BFG's story – the giants having visited those locations on the previous two nights – then summons the Head of the Army and the Marshal of the Air Force. The said officers, though initially belligerent and skeptical, eventually agree to cooperate.

Eventually, a huge fleet of helicopters follows the BFG to the giants' homeland. While the people-eating giants are asleep, the Army ties them up, hangs them under the helicopters, and after a brief struggle with the largest and fiercest of the giants, known as the Fleshlumpeater, flies them to London, where a special pit has been constructed from which they will not be able to escape. With thousands watching closely, the BFG unties the giants, then feeds them snozzcumbers which they will eat for the rest of their lives as a punishment for eating humans.

Afterwards, a huge castle is built to serve as the BFG's new house, with a little cottage next door for Sophie. While they are living happily in England, the BFG writes a book of their adventures.

Basically for a kid it shows that 2 unlikely people can create a bond and become the best of friends.  I wish as adults this would hold true, but lets face it in the society we live in, the norm is to bash those that we don't understand. 

Can't sleep

Lately it's either I can't fall asleep or I can't stay asleep. The last time this happen was when mama passed away. I tried everything to fall asleep. But what worked was the "white noise" station on pandora. Whelp that's not the case this time. Like right now I have this unsettling feeling.

So what do I do when I can't sleep now. Of course I play games on my phone and google stuff. I've been playing Bubble Witch 2 and Guess the emoji. That gets old fast. Right now I've googled everything from ways to fall asleep to random words. 

I'm totally against getting prescription drugs to help me sleep. I don't want to become dependent on it. (I am in no way judging other people who are taking sleeping pills! This is just my personal opinion). Melatonin works to a point for me. Like if I keep taking it then it won't work, this is with any meds obviously. The reason I have the melatonin is because it's a natural substite. 

Actually the talk of prescription drugs just made me wonder if the reason I can't sleep is due to the fact that I'm still not sure how to cope over the loss of mama. 

When I did see someone before I left Maryland, the guy made me leave very angry, so I lost hope of getting the help I need. Now I'm not gonna go into why I left angry, very few people know the reason. So of course since mama's passing I've been doing a lot of research, and I am well aware of the fact that it can take me a bunch of tries to find the right fit with a counselor. Once I fully get settled I am gonna try the process again. 

I got a book, Motherless Daughters, I can't bring myself to read it. I'm not ready to come to terms. Logicly I know it's true and it's my new reality, but emotionally I'm not ready. I think I've diverted back to shutting my feelings out. 

Yesterday was pretty productive

Besides the fact that lately all I have been doing it twitteling my thumbs or taking the dogs to the dog park, yesterday was pretty productive.

I finally got our Comcast instal date. I totally lucked out and they will be here tomorrow afternoon right after the movers are done. YAY FOR WIFI!!! Also the rep totally hooked us up!! If you know me then you know I love a good deal! $10 off a month for the first year, upgraded to the x1 platform for free, free install, all the movies channels free for 3 months then Showtime we get for a year for free, and upgraded our router. I am so glad that we get our stuff and wifi back tomorrow. 

So once A got home from work we needed to go to Walmart to pick up a few things. I was pretty excited to be able to finally have a theme for the bathrooms. A didn't really like anything I suggested, they were "too girly" so we had to compromise. I'm actually surprised and love what we compromised on. I just wanna go back and get the rest of the accessories that go with the theme.

Little does he realize the guest bathroom there will be no compromising! LOL. 

So while we were at sonic we decided that we would go to Ulta. I was so excited!!!! I've done good and haven't bought polish in a month. I was gonna be good and only get one thing, that was until I realized the epic sale they had!!!

Screw couponing for food, I will coupon and hit the sales for polish!!! Now it's a definite I'm going to have to get another helmer for all my polish. So I'm thinking what I'll do is get a piece of wood as well and make a polish desk. 

The moment I found out A made Staff I started to search for ALS (Airman Leadership School) Graduation dresses. I found one online that I fell in love with. But let's face it even though we might have found the perfect dress we will still look. So I told A that we should go into Dress Barn and of course he was like I thought you already found a dress. Anyways, I tried on 5 dresses, until I heard the angels sing the moment I put on the dress we got. It is perfect!!!! It's also something I don't normally like, but it fits so well. 

Obviously a different bra lol. So I figured I will get accessories to match and wear my black Steve Madden heels. I am so in love with it! I couldn't be more happier with the choice I made.

Since I get my stuff back tomorrow and no longer have to blog from the app (which I feel should have the same functions, but that's a whole other topic) I will actually be able to have links again and my original signature back :)

PCSing top 10 list

So I figured since it's PCS season and I'm pretty much in the last stages of PCSing (still waiting for our stuff) that with all the research and googling I did I would give you a top 10 list in my book.

1. Don’t forget to take pictures before, during, and after the PCS.  For 1, you need to take pictures of your valuable items before the movers pack them up. Take the camera with you, your gonna want to take pics of these memories. 

2. When traveling with children, don’t forget to have baby wipes, antibacterial gel, a change of clothes for everyone in the family, entertainment, food, drinks, toys and gadgets, a cell phone charger, a sense of humor, a whole lot of patience.

3.  Don’t wait until you reach your final destination to research the area you will soon be calling home. 

4.  Don’t decline offers to help. This is no time to prove how skilled you are at multitasking.

5. Don’t hold your breath that your shipments will arrive on the estimated arrival date you were given.  They won’t. So be prepared for long hotel stays, picnics on the floor, and elevator music while you sit on hold with the personal property office.

6. Don’t leave things lying around your house that you don’t want packed. The movers can’t read your mind.  If you don’t want your underwear packed, hide it in your suitcase. If you don’t want the diapers packed, put them in your car. If you don’t want to find a trash can filled with trash on the other end, make sure all garbage is at the curb.  If you can’t find a place to hide stuff? Post-It notes with big X’s.  Even movers in foreign countries know that that means hands-off.

7. Don’t let friends see you off on departure day. It’s just too hard. Say “goodbye” and shed your tears the day before. Then make a clean getaway on departure day. You can’t make a fresh start with mascara dripping down your face.

8. Don’t expect your husband to be there to help. Whether he misses the pack-out or the pack-in or the travel in between, you should prepare yourself to deal with any and all portions of the PCS by yourself. But that’s no problem. After all, you’re a MilSpouse. You’re used to doing things on your own by now, right?

9. Don’t be too hard on yourself. PCS’ing is stressful, and exhausting, and frustrating and makes you want to poke your eyes out with a fork. You’ll forget to pack something that should have been packed. You’ll get lost the second you pull away from the airport.  But it happens. Life goes on. And you’ll have a funny story to break the ice with the new people you meet at your next duty station.

10. Don’t panic! I promise you’ll reach your destination in one piece, even if your grandmother’s china doesn’t.

This list can go on forever!!! Every PCS you do chances are your list will get longer and longer. 

I made it

After a full day of travel Roo and I landed safely in Spokane. Roo did amazing the whole way, I was so proud of him!! I am so glad that our little family is whole again.

We got the keys to our new house Friday and I am so in love with it!!! We get our stuff on the 17th (I am so ready to start making our house a home). 

We have a dog park literally across the street from us, so we took the furbabies to it yesterday.  They had so much fun there. There is a hydrant that they painted like a firedog. It is the cutest thing ever!! 

I have been looking at paint swatches, we were told that we could paint the basement and not have to paint it back when time comes for us to PCS again. 

I even signed up for a canning class the housing office is putting on and I am so excited. Some of the ladies on the spouse page signed up for it to so I'm excited to start to get to know people. I'm even thinking about inviting the ladies to a wine and paint thing.
